Dear Church Members

At the time of this letter going out the Church of England steering group is considering the government’s advice on face masks.  We would encourage the use of face masks in church but at present it is not mandatory.

It has been lovely to see some of you at our private prayer sessions and we are now looking forward to inviting you to services based on the Wednesday morning Holy Communion model but socially distanced.  They will last 30-40 minutes, there will be no singing of hymns and they will involve receiving in one kind (wafer) only from small receptacles on a table to the right of the communion rail.  Those whose mobility prevents them going up to the altar will have wafers brought to them in the usual way.

PUBLIC WORSHIP

These services will start on Sunday 2nd August and we are currently planning to hold services at 9am and 11am.  As we are only able to accommodate 30 people at a time in church with the current restrictions we shall be operating a booking service commencing Monday 20th July at 12pm.

HOW TO BOOK:

Ideally we would like you to email the relevant booker but if you are not able to email please use telephone numbers provided and leave a message if there is no reply.  We will email or phone you back to confirm your booking and your pew number.

Bookings will open at 12 noon on a Monday for the following Sunday and close on Wednesday at 5pm.   In order to set up the system the booking period for Sunday 2nd August will stay open a little longer from Monday 20th July at 12 noon until Wednesday 29th at 5pm.

PLEASE NOTE:

1.  You may not be able to be seated next to your partner or friend as we have a very limited number of seats in pairs.

2.  Under current track and trace guidance we will need to keep a list of church members at each service in case anyone at the service develops symptoms and the rest of the congregation who attended that service would be informed and would need to self isolate for 14 days.  These names will be retained in the church safe for 21 days and then destroyed.  We will presume that you agree to your name being kept on our list of worshippers at each service for 21 days, unless we hear from you to the contrary.

We look forward to seeing you very soon.   If you have any queries about any of the above please do not hesitate to contact Margaret Pye (01922 458929) or Jane Alderson (01543 375982).
